Who Am I?

My name is Christie. Let me share some information about me. I grew up in Plainfield, Illinois and still live here! I attended Aurora University where I earned my bachelors degree. I'm currently finishing my master's to become a Reading Specialist and I began my master's in Educational Technology this summer. This will be my 9th year teaching. For my first 2 years I taught 1st grade and this will be my seventh year in 3rd grade. I have taught honors, dual, and regular 3rd grade. I absolutely love 3rd grade! I graduated from Plainfield High School and I have known I wanted to teach in the district since then. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant and student taught in the district before getting my degree and beginning my teaching adventures at my current school. I have loved my past 8 years and I'm ready for my busy 9th year.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my mom, dad, and boyfriend. I absolutely love my two dogs Frankie and Gracie. You may see us at Andy’s Custard, it’s Frankie and Gracie's favorite place. I go to Orange Theory Fitness everyone morning plus I love to run, bike, swim, golf, and do other work outs. I love all things southern, like sweet tea and country music! I absolutely love watching sports, going to sports games, and playing sports. My favorites are the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Florida Gators, and the Cubbies! I am beyond excited for my Cubbies this year! It’s been so much fun I also love coaching the after school program here at Liberty for 3rd – 5th grade girls called Girls on the Run. I am looking forward to working with you this year. We both have such important roles to play in the education of your child. I hope to work hand in hand with you this year through constant communication. We will make such a great team! If there is anything you should need, please don’t hesitate to ask.
